Surfing Siargao
Pronounces “shar-gow,” this island and the people who live there blew me away. I loved it. Here’s where we stayed, what we did, and how we got there:
Pre-Surf Energy Nuggets
Sometimes you just need a little energy boost before a surf session (or workout). That’s where these babies come in.
My Women’s Spring Suit Picks for 2014
The water finally warmed up here and it is time to put away my 3/2 full suit. I love being able to feel the water when I’m surfing, and the freedom of not being covered with neoprene. Plus, my legs finally get some time in the sun!
Nicaragua Surfari
Every year Miles and I do a surf trip to somewhere new. The reasons for this are:
- To surf.
- To surf.
- To go some place we’ve never been (this is important).
How to Give Your Wetsuit an End-of-Season Cleaning
Summer in Southern California is over (but is it really?) and it is time to give those Spring suits a rinse before you hang them up for the Winter. Wetsuits can be a little tricky to clean because they are so “delicate” in some ways. You never want to put them through a washer/dryer cycle, and you don’t want to use any harsh cleaners. But what is the best way to give your spring suit a rinse with more than just fresh water before you retire it for the season? There are some wetsuit cleaning products on the market but they are usually pretty expensive. This is what I have found to help get any smells out, and to help stop any mildew that might grow on the off-season.
