Easy Pineapple Salsa with Charred Jalapeño
This might be the easiest recipe I’ve posted on here, but it might also be the most flavorful.
Fresh pineapple, lime juice, a charred jalapeño… they all come together in a really zesty summer condiment perfect for tacos, rice bowls, on top of fish or just for dipping tortilla chips.
Hope you’re all having a nice summer.
Have fun!
Easy Pineapple Salsa with Charred Jalapeño

Yields 2
Prep Time
10 min
Ingredients
- 2 cups chopped ripe, fresh pineapple (try to keep as much juice as possible while chopping)
- juice of one small lime
- 1 large jalapeno, charred (see notes) and finely chopped, using seeds if you want a more spicy salsa
- kosher salt to taste
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- optional: chopped fresh cilantro, chopped green onions
Instructions
- Combine ingredients in a bowl and use right away on tacos, rice bowls, over fish etc.
Notes
- To char jalapeno, just let it sit on the open flame of a gas stovetop for a few minutes on each side (keeping a close eye on it) until it gets nice and charred, but not super burnt and still retains its firmness. You don't want it to get floppy, and you still want a bright green flesh inside. Alternately, you can put the jalapeno under your broiler for a few minutes too.
