Easy No-Knead Pizza Dough (Part One)
I honestly can’t remember the last time we ordered pizza. We’ve tried a lot of different ways to make pizza dough, and this is by far the easiest to make.
The whole process takes about 10 minutes, and you don’t even need to get your hands dirty. The dough stretches without getting holes, and when it bakes it forms this perfect crust that is crunchy on the outside and light and airy on the inside. You seriously won’t want to order pizza again once you start making your own. Every Friday night Miles and I have pizza night at our place. I think that the tradition started at some point in college, so it has been going on for at least 5 years. Sometimes we have 20 people. Sometimes we have 4 people. We always supply the dough, sauce and cheese but our friends bring most of the toppings.
I am in charge of making the dough on Friday morning, and Miles usually sends me a text around 9:00 to remind me to do it, and then gives me a hard time for not measuring correctly (even though he’s not there to see me do it, he knows I like to eyeball).
Easy No-Knead Pizza Dough (Part One)
Ingredients:
- 7 cups all purpose flour
- 4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp yeast
- 3.5-4 cups warm water
- saran wrap
Directions:
- In a stand mixer with paddle attachment, combine flour, salt and yeast, and mix on low setting for about 1 min.
- Add warm water and mix until combined, and sticky dough forms (1 or 2 mins). (see picture)
- Using a spatula, scrape dough into big bowl and cover tightly with saran wrap.
- Put bowl in warm place out of the way to rise for a minimum of 10 hours. (I usually put it on top of the fridge).
Note: You can make this the night before if you don’t have time in the morning, but just use 1/2 tsp yeast.
Look for Part 2 soon, so you’ll know what to do next!
